Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from University of Hertfordshire in 2013. She completed her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2015 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in October 2016.
Melissa commenced her pupillage in Messrs Adnan, Sundra & Low. Her areas of practice include general litigation, probate and administration of estates, land disputes, corporate and commercial litigation, debt recovery and family law matters. She also acted as counsel for several matters in the Subordinate Court and High Court.

Maisarah is a Partner at Messrs. Thanita Gill & Partners, where she leads the firm’s Banking & Debt Recovery Litigation Department. She is widely recognized for her ability to deliver strategic and practical solutions in banking disputes, foreclosure actions, insolvency, bankruptcy, and execution proceedings, advising both financial institutions and corporate clients.
Before joining the firm, Maisarah practiced with Messrs. Lainah Yaacob & Zulkepli and later Messrs. Khalek Awang & Associates, where she developed extensive hands-on experience across general litigation, conveyancing, and probate & administration matters. This diverse exposure sharpened her skills in navigating both contentious and non-contentious disputes.
Known for her diligence, precision, and calm approach under pressure, Maisarah has built a reputation as a trusted advocate who combines legal acumen with a strong client-focused mindset. Seraphine is a legal associate in our firm, focusing on Corporate Law & Insurance Litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, she has worked with Messrs Othman Hashim & Co. First specializing in Insurance Litigation, Seraphine had then transitioned into Professional Negligence, Specialty & Fraud Claims. She has provided legal opinion on issues that arise from lawsuits or potential lawsuits (Insurance – matters pertaining Non-Motor Insurance Policies i.e Contractor’s All Risk, Public Policy Liability, Marine Policy (subrogation) and etc.).
Seraphine has also assisted counsels during trials in various tiers of Court - from the Magistrates Court to the Court of Appeal; attending Court matters physically and online Hearings including preparing, drafting and attending various Court interlocutory application inter alia Stay Application, defending Judicial Review application and leave to appeal to the Federal Court.
Apart from litigation, Seraphine is well-informed in handling and assisting non-contentious matters such as letter of administration application and divorce petition (joint).

Mr Selva Sugumaran holds a BA (Hons), Legal Studies and a BA (Hons), Criminal Justice from Ashley University, California USA which he had obtained via an online course of studies and classes in Malaysia. He has worked in Legal firms as a paralegal as well as an Office Manager.
Mr Selva also has 35 over years of experience in land matters considering that he had previously worked in Legal Firms specializing in conveyancing matters, property developer firm, advertisement agencies as well as in the government agencies in all aspects of properties developments. In addition, he also carries with him the experience of dealing with Government Departments, Police and other Enforcement Agencies, the Courts, Local Government matters, Winding-up, Bankruptcy matters, and Land requisition matters and Non-Government Organisations (NGO).

Syazwan bin Mohsin is a law graduate from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) with practical experience spanning civil and criminal litigation, as well as conveyancing. He underwent his pupillage at Messrs Baharum, Suhaimi & Hisham.
During his pupillage, Syazwan has been actively involved in drafting pleadings and submissions, preparing interlocutory applications, assisting counsel during trials, and managing property transactions. His exposure has equipped him with strong research, drafting, and advocacy support skills.
Prior to this, Syazwan completed internships at Messrs Salehuddin Saidin & Associates and at the Magistrate Court in Kluang, Johor, where he gained valuable insights into criminal litigation work and court processes, further strengthening his foundation in legal practice.
Syazwan’s combination of academic grounding, practical exposure, and hands-on litigation and conveyancing experience positions him as a promising young lawyer committed to delivering high-quality legal work in Thanita Gill & Partners.
